Annual website update checklist
The summer holidays are a good time to review and update the information on your website. For example, teachers may be moving to a different class, there may be a new holiday schedule, or contact details may have changed.
Use this checklist to make sure your website is fully up to date.
Checklist
School guide
Upload the new school guide easily using the File plugin. You can give the file a clear name and display a PDF preview. This allows parents to read the guide directly on the website without having to open the file first.
New holiday schedule
A new school year also means new holidays and inset days. Remove the old holiday schedule and add the new dates to the website.
Update team members
Check whether the team page is still up to date. You can update staff details via Management > Team Members. Click a staff member’s name to edit their details, such as the class they are linked to.
Is the staff member already displayed on the team page? Any changes will then be updated there automatically.
School board and parent council
At the end of the school year, the composition of the school board and parent council often changes. Check whether the correct members are listed on the website and consider introducing new members to parents.
News and calendar
Schools organise many enjoyable activities, and the website is a great place to share them with parents. Check that the news items are still current and that the calendar has been updated for the new school year.
Parental contribution
Has the parental contribution changed for the new school year? Remember to update the amount and the related information on the website.
Tip: refresh your photos
Photos
Are the photos on your website still up to date? Summer is a great time to take new photos of the school building, playground and classrooms. This gives new parents and pupils an immediate impression of the school.
